Omni-directional:
S2403B
Manufacturer: Cushcraft
Gain: 3dBd (5.14dBi)
Omni-directional, vertically polarized
Feedline: appears to be 3' of CA195 (unconfirmed)
Connector: Male RP-TNC (mates directly with WRT54G routers)
Price: $10-15 used on eBay
Frequency plots: SWR, LogMag, Smith Chart
I have used these antennas and they work great. For an event, one of these and a 19dBi panel antenna were used to make a 0.75 mile link and had 100% link quality for the entire event. They were designed for indoor use so I wouldn't use them in a permanent outdoor installation but they work great indoors for a higher gain antenna than the router's stock antennas.
AOA-2412
Manufacturer: Alfa Technologies
Gain: 8.96dBd (12dBi)
Omni-directional, vertically polarized
Connector: N-Female
Datasheet
Price: $39.99 on Amazon
Frequency plots: SWR, LogMag
The picture is a bit misleading but this antenna is 3.7' in length.
This has also been a good performer. Amazon stocks other versions of this antenna at different gains too.
HG2415U-PRO
Manufacturer: Hyperlink Technologies
Gain: 11.86dBd (15dBi)
Omni-directional, vertically polarized, center-fed collinear array
Connector: Integral N-Female
Datasheet
Price: $115 from L-COM new (I got mine from a craigslist ad for much less)
Frequency plots: Coming soon!
Parabolic:
24dBi dish
Manufacturer: TP-Link & many others
Gain: 21.86dBd (24dBi)
Directional (parabolic dish), vertical or horizontal polarization based on installation
Connector: N-Male
Datasheet
Price: ~$50 from Amazon, Newegg, eBay auctions (various prices)
Frequency plots: SWR, LogMag, Smith Chart
T2400B
Manufacturer: Conifer
Gain: 11.86 dBd (14dBi)
Feedline: RG-8 pigtail (~12")
Connector: N-Male
Price: ?
Frequency plots: SWR, LogMag, Smith Chart
It appears that Conifer no longer makes this antenna but the Andrew 18T-2400 MAG GRID antenna is an identical product.
Patch:
Tranzeo TR-CPQ-19f
Manufacturer: Tranzeo
Gain: 16.86dBd (19dBi)
Directional (patch), vertical or horizontal polarization based on installation
Connector: One or two RJ-45 jacks, depending on model
Price: ~$30 on eBay auctions (various prices)
Frequency plots of patch antenna: coming soon.
Similar to the Rootenna, this enclosure has both a built-in 19dBi patch antenna and also an area that you can mount electronics inside. Originally designed for 2.4 GHz CPE--Customer Premise Equipment--you should be able to find these relatively easily from old installations. I have seen several of these on eBay stating that the unit doesn't work but since I'm only after the antenna and enclosure, I could care less about the electronics inside.
I will eventually put together a step-by-step instruction on how I adapted the TR-CPQ-19f for HSMM-MESH use but I have two of these with routers installed inside and they work great.
RE14P
Manufacturer: Hyperlink Technologies
Gain: 11.86dBd (14dBi)
Directional (patch), vertically or horizontally polarized based on installation
Feedline: appears to be 3' of CA195 (unconfirmed)
Connector: Male RP-TNC (mates directly with WRT54G routers)
Price: $10-15 used on eBay
The RE14P is described as a 14dBi patch antenna. However, when I hooked a couple of them up to a network analyzer, they do not resonate anywhere near 2.4 GHz. When I get some time, I will try to fix them but for right now they are sitting on a shelf.
